If only I could tackle the scarf, lol.  I have an 8-month-old nephew who would love knitted toys! lol. I shall start practicing.  Grin

This is patrick, he was a present for my husband and has taken on a life of his own:

Here he is with a bunny friend (bunny pattern from the Last Minute Knitted Gifts book)

I love this book, too.  Those are all so great!

Below are the guys I've made so far.  (I'd posted them on the toy board, but here they are again.)

I'm in love with the octopus and the wombat! I'm having a baby in December so all of this stuff is just making me all mommy/mushy!!!

This is supposed to be a wombat--what can I say?  It was my first knitted toy.

Hey,
I'm double posting here, which is probably a no no (this photo is in a swap gallery page too) but my penguin just had to say hello to Patrick, they must be long lost brothers Smiley

This dolphin pattern is from the book too.

All of these animals are so cute!  Half.com has the book for cheap, but before I spend on it, I would like to know what experience levels these are?  I'm not new to knitting, but I'm also not super good.

The knitting itself is pretty straightforward. I found the finishing kind of tricky cause there are lots of pieces and you have to fit them all together, but it's actually a really good way to practice finishing. It doesn't have to be perfect like a sweater cause you don't have fit to worry about. There are also different levels in the book and there are quite a few easy ones which should be pretty straightforward. The Penguin was intermediate, but the dolphin was easy.
