Other people have covered my favorite fabric sites for regular cotton prints, but you can try www.diapershop.com for PUL.  They have lots of solids and a couple prints that I can actually see myself buying.

Another option is to buy a solid PUL for the inside waterproof layer and put a layer of cotton print on the outside.  A lot of the diaper cover patterns are designed like that.  This may be cheaper than having your print laminated and would certainly give you more flexibility to mix and match and pick up cool prints as you find them.  The PUL, white or colors, is only $7.95/ yd.

www.finefabrics.com is a store here in Santa Barbara. They're on the pricier side (though they have some. AWESOME. sales. ...if you get lucky before it's gone), but they carry mostly designer fabrics: Anna Sui, Calvin Klein, Pucci, Prada ... and even cheaper fabrics like the crepes and wools used by Ann Taylor.

I can't afford most of it, but it's nice to know that if I ever really want to shell out, you can find some things there that you can't find elsewhere.

Speaking of finding things, would you gals make any specific recommendations for fabrics for making clothing (as opposed to quilting)? I love fabric.com, but I'd like to have more options for things like sheer cottons, printed knits (more fashiony prints, I guess), good modal jersey blends, stuff like that? (Feel free to PM me if you have some ideas, so I don't hijack the thread)

cheers!

A lady on here (sorry I can't remember the name. Sad) sent me to this site and they have some awesome fabric. I don't know what kind you're into but HERE go. I haven't ordered from them so I can't give a review on shipping or CS.

I also like THIS site. They sell leather and stuff like that too, very neat.

Do any of you know of any good cheap online shops that sell fabric? I have a local Rags but their fabric selection is quite limited. And I have a Joanns but it's 45 minutes away. So, anyone have links that they can share? I'd be forever greatful. Thanks in advance.

PS - I'm looking for stretch jersey, cotton, flannel, and fleece fabrics. Some vintage and retro looking.
