Ive been on this doll kick and ive made 4 or 5 now.
None of them have faces.

The first couple actually look ok without faces but the last one I made needs one.
I sewed on some eyes and lips and hated them and ripped them out.

Im almost finished with her clothes and stuff she just needs a face.
I started a new one today and shes going to need a face too.

Anyone have any links or suggestions on making faces on crochet dolls?

On crochet dolls I like to use felt or safety eyes. Here are a couple with felt eyes. The one with the black outline around the eyes is just permanent marker. I drew the eye with it the cut out on the outside edge, then added a couple of white fabric paint dots.

Good places to find eye shapes are on line or coloring books. lol
Here's a couple with safety eyes. You can change how they look with different eye patches or eye lids

I'll see if I can find my pattern for crochet lips and post it here. You can also make lips out of felt. If you find a style you really like I would suggest making a template of it out of cardboard or plastic. Hope this helps

Oh thank you. That helps alot. I like the first two ALOT.
I also like the plastic eyes with the white behind it.
I have the plastic eyes but I was trying to stay away from them.

Here is my newest doll and the other ones are in pictures on the same link

she looks very dainty and pretty. I think with her I would draw an eye shape on white felt and the use markers or paints to make the rest of the eye. I would like to see her when you decide on her face

Sometimes I find that the best thing is those cheap plastic beads that come in kids' jewelry kits, surprisingly.
