I just aquired tons of beautiful soft knits, and I'm wondering which stitches on my machine I should use, and if you have any other tips. I'm planning on making womens clothing, most likely jumpers, dresses and shirts.

A serger works best, but you can use the zig-zag stitch on your regular machine.  I'd recommend reading up a little bit before you start.  I picked up the "Sew U, Home Stretch" book about sewing knits by Wendy of Built by Wendy and have found it really, really helpful.

Lucky you with all your soft knits.  My fabric store carries very little by way of knits.  Have fun!
