Hey sew~amy --

Do you have a close-up of katchoo1's addition? I'd love to see what they're pecking at.

A little bit unrelated, but in the same embroidery subject ...

Since I know how it is with trying to find good towels to embroider on and trying to save some $$.... I just want to share that I found some decent 100% cotton tea towels in solid colors in Dollar Tree, I picked some yesterday and decided to go back today to get a few more and thankfully I found a few more but not many more left.
So if you have a chance or a Dollar Tree store nearby check and see if yours have some!
They are made in India.

My apologies if I shouldn't have posted this here, I just wanted to share.

That apron is adorable and I love the way everyone did the sewing birdies theme!

My tip is, if you iron your embroidery face down on a plush towel, it is kinder to your stitches. Wink

Hi everyone, I've been a bit under the weather recently so haven't been on Craftster for ages (sorry). I've had a catch up on the gallery and everything is just amazing! I would love to comment on everything but it would probably take a whole page!
IamSusie- I love what you added to my towel, Thank you!
It's fun seeing some finished towels starting to appear in the gallery  Smiley

Like my stuff? Why don't you come visit sometime?

I will take a close up later and post it.  It is so cute.  They are pecking at little buttons.  and the flowers are buttons too.  It is adorable.

melyssa-marie - that's so cute and a perfect addition to the pillow! I can't believe you did the whole tree in metallic!
Brookowens -very cute & bright! and I iron from the back too, usually on a soft press cloth so I don't squish my stitches

I can't believe some towels are already home!  Shocked

so tacky its classy

I did the framework of the tree in a steel-pole colored split stitch, then stitched all the needles and the trunk pole in silver metallic. It took 2 weeks Shocked and the back is not very pretty. But I thought it was too kitschy to pass up. I bought some gorgeous colored metallic floss in teal, green, and ruby red to add to the ornaments but by the time I got to them I was all metalliced out. And I didn't want to over do it with the shiny (though I think you can never have too much sparkle!!!)

Can whoever currently has the vintage crafts themed towel in the slices group snap a photo of my tomato pincushion? I didn't get one before it was sent out. I also battled with metallic floss on that one.

Hi melyssa_marie, here's a picture of your tomato pincushion. It's really really cute! I couldn't tell you had difficulty with metallic floss cuz it turned out great! Here's a picture I took of it! Cheesy

I got my towel back a little while ago! I'm still planning on adding some text to both sides of the middle to fill it out, but I wanted to post a pic so you can all see it now. On one side I'm going to put "Tea Towel Tour 4" and on the other all the usernames of the people that stitched on it. That would be (clockwise starting at the top left): katchoo1, GatsbyGirl, ~Glenda, sew~amy, sonjabegonia, and I'm in the middle. Thank you all so much! All of your stitching is beautiful and I love my towel so much!!
