I don't travel very often (and when I do, I stuff everything in duffel bags, lol) so up until now I have bypassed the suitcase aisle in my local thrift stores and been fine with it.  Now I can't wait to go there JUST for this aisle!  I want to paint and redo two or three of these and stack them in my bedroom or living room for extra storage.  I may even do an apple themed one for my kitchen, it would look great to find one of those smaller and deeper ones and put it on top of the fridge with my cook books in it or something.  Great great idea!  Thanks for the inspiration, I am hitting This Rocks!

PS - It was genius of you to rip out the lining and then use the hot glue to cover the rough edges.  I would have never thought of that, for some reason the old lining always seemed like it HAD to stay in there or I'd be ruining the smelly suitcase!  Now I know better.  Wink

Am taking a crafting/posting hiatus and formally withdrawing from all the CAL's I was in.  Need time to recharge and rewire.  But, I am still lurking and loving you guys like crazy, keep posting the amazing projects!!!  You all rock!

You totally rock!
You really did a great job. I love to see amazing transformations like this...you know? The kind of transformation where you take something that no one would want to touch, being smelly and old and turn it into something with real value.
Very nice work kristenp!
