My mother's birthday was last week so, even though I was really tired, I baked.  By the time all four layers got out of the oven I was barely conscious so, I didn't wait on them to properly cool, or even them up... at all.  Which is why this is so blasted ugly.  It was however, delicious.  I got a ton of compliments on this one and several calls over the next few days as to what was in it.  Fortunatly, it's simple.
I used two boxed lemon cake mixes for the four layers of cake, a jar of raspberry preserves for the filling, and I made sour cream frosting.  It was pretty thin so it was almost poured over the cake.

Sour Cream Frosting:

1/2 C butter softened
1 C. sour cream
2 T. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. salt
5 1/2 C confectioner's sugar

Mix together everything but the sugar.  Add the sugar while beating thouroughly with a mixer.

Very simple

omg yum

People who take time to be alone usually have depth, originality, and quiet reserve.

He's missing his liver. That's how some kids react to the cafeteria food. The lucky ones.
