I found a dirty folding table by our dumpster and decided it needed saving. I had bought a bunch of random comics from amazon.com hoping to use them for a crafty project. Lo and behold, the boyfriend now has a new table!

Before:

In Process:

After:

He enjoys it very much now (no expensive or collectible comics were hurt in this project)

Great idea!  Was the table top padded or hard?  Are you going to seal it?   Just curious, this would be a great idea for my teenage son, he likes conversation pieces lol.

Kudos to you for saving a table from certain death!

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.

Very cool!  The red paint really makes the comics pop!

Great job!  That's definitely a conversation piece!

I actually made something very, very similar recently, but with an old school desk and my daughter's old Simpsons and Futurama comics.  The colors in those comics don't seem to be nearly as bright/saturated as the ones you used, so yours really "pops".

I'm also curious the medium you used to glue it all down. Smiley

I sealed it with 3 layers of mod podge, although next time I think I would use a better decoupage medium. The table top map vinyl with a 1/4 of air between it and the hard table. Kinda annoying Smiley

Really fun table!

I like modpodge for gluing and for the thickness of the finish, but it stays sticky, so I use a couple coats of it for sealer, then spray with a clear varnish.
