Details of swap: Welcome to the 4th round of the tea towel tour.  For this round we are allowing participants from all over but we have a limited number of international spots.  So, please sign up early if you are interested.

This swap is a great way to get to know people and improve your skills.  We welcome all levels to join.  The swap is an hand embroidery tour.  It will test your time management skills and your embroidery skills as you have ONLY ONE WEEK PER DESIGN.  You can send a cloth napkin, a pillow size square of fabric, an apron, or a tea towel, whatever you choose to send make sure it is washable, lightweight, light colored, suitable for hand embroidery, and pinked or basted if the edges are raw.  DO NOT ask permission to send bulky, heavy items, or dark colored items.

Before you send attach with a safety pin or baste a tag to your towel with your name and address and put your towel into a Ziploc bag.  You may want to include a card to your fellow stitchers letting them know a little about you or your kitchen.  If you have time you may want to start off your towel but this is not a must and should not interfere with you making the sending deadline.

When you receive a towel YOU HAVE ONE WEEK from its arrival date until it needs to shipped out again.  When a towel arrives you need to let your group organizer and the sender know.

When you ship a towel you must PM the receiver and your group organizer and let them know (include the DC # if you are sending from a US address to a US address).    If you are running late let your group organizer know ASAP.   Communication is key failure to communicate could result in you being skipped or dropped.

Although this idea originally started with Sublime Stitching you can use any embroidery design you like and post it in the gallery as soon as you are done.  For this round we are requiring that you that credit the source of your images and only use imagery you have obtained legitimately and is of known origins and copyright free.  It is required you get permission for designs that you have not purchased, created or are not available as unlicensed designs (free).   Additionally, it would be thoughtful to add a link to your source.

Anyone who is not in contact on a weekly basis via posts or PMs without notifying their group organizer will be considered flaking.  FLAKERS SLOW DOWN THEIR WHOLE GROUP, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SCHEDULE CAN ACCOMODATE THE TIME COMMITMENT.  The estimated time for completion of this swap is mid October for USA groups, and November or early December for international groups.

If you want to participate, send the following information to the organizer:

Name of swap:
Craftster username:
Email address:
Your real name:
State/Province (pls spell it out -it is just easier):
Postal/Zip Code:

Would you like to be in an international group?
If you said yes to the question above and live in the USA would you be willing to be the overseas shipper for your group?
What would you say your skill level is on a scale of 1-10 (1 you are new to embroidery, and 10 being that you work quickly and can do pretty much any stitch well)?
Do you wish to allow other kinds of embellishment (are beads/ribbon/tinting/applique okay)?
Will you be regularly washing this item?
What colors do you like?
Is there a BROAD GENERAL theme you are hoping your partners will be able to accommodate?
Is there anything that you would not like to see on your item?
Any other information you think is relevant?
Do you agree to sending the item Xpresspost or Priority Mail if you run late?

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

Please let me know when you send and receive. It's also nice to let the person you received from/are sending to and the person whose item is now in/now leaving your possession know as well.

So let me get this straight. You start out with your towel and send it immediately to someone else and wait to receive someone else's? Do you receive the questionnaire for all the people you will embroider for?

Just trying to find me...

It really is so much fun!  I know the rules look complicated, but it is pretty simple.   Cheesy

This round we want to be careful about copyrighted images so please be sure to credit the sources of the images you choose to stitch and don't copy someone's artwork without permission.   Wink
