I made this guy for a swap and really liked how it turned out. I'd seen several knitted watermelon hats before, but not a crochet one. I based it on Rheatheylia's Purely Puffs hat pattern and added a rind and seeds. I think it looks all nice and summery (insomuch as a wool hat can be anyway), although it is perhaps a little too big for my model.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

Yeah, I massively suck at crocheting in the round and usually avoid it like the plague. I think this is my first in the round F.O. because every previous time I just gave up and switched to my beloved old spiral.
