After finishing my Mario map (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=252157.msg2805840#msg2805840, I just had to do some more video game stitching. And now it's finished!

This time it's the map from the Game Boy Color version of Zelda - Link's Awakening. This was my absolute favorite game when I was little. I remember how I was completely absorbed by it when I played it the first time. Once I had to follow my mother when she was going to do a bunch of errands and I couldn't put it away: I played in the car to town, outside stores, waiting in the doctor's office when she did her routine checkup - everywhere! I noticed where we were, but that's about it. Smiley

And of course some close ups:

It's a lot smaller than the Mario map, so it took much less time to complete, about six weeks. Finished size about 24,5 x 22 cm (9,5 x 8,5 inches), 23 000 pixels.

I don't use a pattern, only a screen shot of the game I want to stitch. To those of you that want to make your own video game cross stitch I recommend the tutorial at Sprite Stitch: http://www.spritestitch.com/?page_id=394

Oh god, I remember playing that Cheesy My first game on my first hand-held! (My parents wouldn't let me have a hand-held, so I never had an original gameboy... the gameboy color was available at the time I'd started realizing they wouldn't tell me off for buying it with my own money Cheesy )
I never completed it, I got to some room where a dude was throwing bombs at me on a moving floor, and then I got annoyed and stopped playing Roll Eyes Story of mostly every game I've ever played Tongue

Wonderful piece, makes me inspired to find the Keen 4 map Smiley

"That's my lab table and this is my work-stool. And over there is my intergalactic spaceship! And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wire."

...oh, if it wasn't clear, I'm rarely completely serious. Smiley

That is so cool, I know that there are loads of fancy gameboy type things now, but I remember being totally hooked on my gameboy colour (it was purple!) though it was the pokemon game (hehe) that I was really into, I do remember having a zelda of some sort that I never managed to finish. Grin

This is awesome Cheesy
When I first got this game, I was in love with it, and wanted to paint the entire map on my wall. Of course, my parents nixed that idea >_< When I saw your Mario map, it reminded me, and I had some notions of making a cross stitch version. Guess you beat me to it! Or at least, proved that it can be done Tongue
Great work!!

Wow!  I'm going to have to make my hubby a FF1 one.  That was his game of obsession for a time.

You do such wonderful jobs!  I'm envious.

Neat!  DD (who plays more gameboy stuff than I do) recoginized it right away.

Where did all this fabric come from? I CAN'T have bought THAT much!
