While my parents went on vacation for a week me, my husband and brother decided to paint and slightly redecorate my parents living room. My mother was SHOCKED and soooooo happy with the results. I love my parents, but their house suffered from NO COLOR syndrome. I helped put an end to that.  Grin Here are the before and after photos... tell me what you think!!

It looks alot better with color!  This was really cool of you to do for your parents.  My parent went away for their anniversary and I did the same for them -- painted the living room -- it was the best (and easiest) gift.

Huge difference, and I love it.  But one thing bugs me.  The ceiling fan, it needs some color too.
Can you sneak back in and paint it when they go out to dinner?  Wink

Wow, I love what you did in that room! It's so sunny-looking now. What a sweet thing to do! And brave, too. I would never be able to choose stuff for my mom. I'd be scared she'd hate what I chose. I'm glad your parents loved it, 'cause it's beautiful.

I'm most impressed with how you rearranged the placement of the furniture.  Seems like a lot of big pieces for the size of the room and now it's much less cramped looking.

Thanks for the great feedback! That ceiling fan bugs me too!! They actually plan on changing it and have for quite some time now. There is a lot of furniture in that room as well. It was a new experience rearranging in tight quarters. My house is very roomy and has 8 foot ceilings so working with a small ranch was rather difficult. I'm just glad my parents liked it! My mother had polio when she was a child so she can't work and isn't really able to do much physically. With my father working 50+ hours a week and traveling for his job a lot they just can't get a lot done around the house like they wish they could. They're actually going away again this fall and my brother and I are already planning the dinning room as their anniversary present.  Wink
