Hi, my name is Nikki and I am a fabric addict.

ive been on a zipper pouch and wallet kick here lately and i just ran out of hardware so while i wait for new supplies i decided to make a purse. i devised the pattern while waiting in line to pick up my kids from school and in my mind i envisioned the fabric and everything and its done now and i am just not sure if it is as nice as i was imagining. it seems a little blah or like its missing something. (oh and my camera is being difficult or the lighting was bad or something....the print itself looks much better in person, lol)

please let me know what you think be cruel or be kind, just be honest  Grin

i used two of amy butler's midwest modern fabrics....(im having so much trouble cutting this stuff...its sooo pretty!)

here it is hanging up to show size. its 8 inches tall and 11 inches wide with a big 4 inch bottom

I just keep looking at it and thinking i should have done something different, like maybe a contrat fabric on the flap or something.....help!!!

I think it looks great!  Very professional looking, like something I would buy in a store Smiley  A contrast fabric with maybe the pink from the buds or something would look great.  Make another one and try it out!  LOL!

I really like it a lot!  Maybe you could put a pretty brooch or something above the closure on the flap?  That would at least give it a focus point.  But it does look really nice!

I really like it as is! It looks great!
But if you feel its missing something, you could embellish the flap with buttons, or a patch or something

If you made it again, you could use contrast fabric for the flap or add piping around the edge of the flap

I think you did a wonderful job! The purse is totally cute and I agree with TheSapphireMoon that it looks very professional!  Grin
If you think it needs a bit more, you could always hand-stitch on an applique, or maybe some contrast trim/lace around the flap? I sometimes use the lining fabric to make flowers to embellish the outsides of my bags.
Again, great job on your bag!  Cheesy

Actually... I absolutely love this purse!!! Great job with it, and I love the fabric (and I'm not usually a fan of the Amy Butler fabrics I've seen... I know, I know). I "this rocks"ed it and I'mma Wist it too. Great work. Smiley

That is a great bag and maybe a couple flower embellishments would have just made it a bit more snazzy. Great job!

It's gorgeous!  If you want to add something to it, my suggestion would be to hand-sew some bugle beads to the stems of the flap flowers, or add some irridescent sequings sewn to the flap randomly, or a sparkly flower brooch.  The only thing, IMHO, that is would need to make it better (as it already ROCKS), is some sparkle.

I love the fabric! I am not an embellishment person, so I think it is lovely as it.
