Wow i love the rose

Some things in this world are invisible, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

I was thinking of making a purse while I was on vacatio next week and this pattern looks great. I'm not sure what colours yet and I won't do the rosette. I'll be buying yarn and starting during the weekend.

Are you planning to use 2 strands held together?  Seems like since the pattern uses an N hook and Thick & Quick yarn, it might come out too loose if you use regular worsted-weight yarn.  I'll be interested to see how they turn out.  I'm overwhelmed right now, or I'd join you -- it's a cute purse!

The pattern calls for two strands together of both yarns so that's what I was going to do.

aww...this is so cute!  I wish i could join in this...i've got too much going on between other half finished projects and friggen grad school work!  Maybe I'll lurk for a bit and join in later....it'd look SO CUTE in cool blues--big colors for the summer!

If it weren't for STRESS, I'd have no energy at all....

Oh, I totally didn't even notice that.  Wow, double-stranded bulky yarn -- you might need to triple-up on the Red Heart or something.  Let us know how it works out!

help!  i'm getting confused as to what the "row-end" stitches are on the bottom piece...if i post a picture, can y'all help me out?  thanks!

I've put this project on hold. I want to make some stuff for someone back home and send it back with someone who is visiting me to save on the shipping.

Plus I decided it's a lot of yarn to carry with me and we're backpacking.

Another thing is I don't have a decent LYS near me that I've been able to find and the big craft shop has crap for yarn selection so I'm going to order the yarn online. Right now I'm thinking a bright purple and grey. We'll see though.

Good Luck everyone!

I thought it would be fun to join a crochetalong here and I just realised that I actually made this bag about a month ago. I did hold two strands together using a 4 ply of Caron Simply Soft in tan and a burgundy colour (feels like chenille) in the same brand.  I changed the row sequence because I didn't like the original way. I also lined the inside of the bag with matching fabric.  Here's my version:

You can see it in Completed projects. Topic: V-day Striped handbag

Oh! CatsAndWhiskey!
I've heard from a few people that Lion Brand patterns can be a bit confusing. This one was no different. I had to compensate on the bottom of the bag and just make sure that I had enough stitches to work up the sides of the purse.  If you need help, let me know.
