I'm hoping that someone on here remembers this dress pattern that I just have to find.  I know it was made by one of the big 4 pattern companies sometime around 2000-2002.  It is a reproduction from a 40s or 50s button down halter dress.  I tried googling it but haven't found it.  It was out of print by early 2003 at the latest.  For the life of me I cannot remember the pattern number or who made it.  I'm 99.9 % sure that it was Butterick. TIA!

I can't help you at all, but try asking in the Sewing Pattern Review board. Those lovely folk pay a lot more attention to those details than I do!

Crochet uses a hook. Pirates have hooks, and they are cool. So crochet is cool because of the hook.

I have a "1950's Retro"  halter dress with a short little jacket, it's a Simplicity 3780.

Hope that helps!  (You can also go to the "Big 4" websites and look at discontinued and out of print patterns that they still have copies of.  Also search "vintage" and "retro" on the website.)

Something I do is use Ebay/Etsy/eCrater as a research tool and browse browse browse until I find what it is I am looking for OR something similar to what I want... The sellers are usually happy to answer any questions you have AND if the price is right you shall have your pattern!

There are also several other vintage pattern sites that sell repros as well as the originals.... Just do a google search for "vintage pattern" or "vintage sewing pattern" and see what ya get....Lol I have to fight the urge to BUY every darn vintage pattern I come across.... maybe they need a forum for folks with sewing addiction HA!!

Best of Luck!!

Thanks for all of your help!  I finally figured it out.  Oddly enough, someone had posted a picture of their repro lot on a vintage website. It's Butterick 6174.  Now I can stop going crazy trying to figure it out.
