You should punch whoever made fun of you in the face (figuratively speaking, of course--whatever that means)! I am absolutely confident that their opinions don't represent that of the majority. Your efforts resulted in a beautiful skirt!

I started reading through the 14 pages of replies and they all communicate the same thing:  This is a beautiful, intricate, painstaking piece of art in a wearable form.  When I saw the first pictures I was struck by how formal the skirt appears, but yet so casual at the same time.  Amazing.  Plus, your model looks like she's loving wearing it, which is half the battle!

I'm so sorry to hear that people denigrated your efforts and vision.  As people who make things (crafters/craftsters) I think we all hear these negative "Why did you do THATHuh" kinds of criticisms from time to time.  Rather than feeling like we have to justify our art and craftsmanship, we should just answer "Because I wanted to"  or "Because I can.  Can you??"

All that to say, this ROCKS (hit the button) and you should be proud.

if you can't be a good example then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

There are two things that I normally don't like... bright rainbow colors all put together and patchwork skirts (although I love patchwork quilts). But, when I looked at this and I was just awe struck. Not only is it just gorgeous and well put together, but it's a testament to working so very very hard at something and having a beautiful, creative, fun end result. I was just writing a blog post about creativity and what happens when you share. I know just how you feel.

Please don't let them get you down. You're a amazing artist.

This is BEAUTIFUL! I love it!. Don't let others get you down. Just because they don't like it....I would defiantly wear this....I have in my head that I want to make one for myself when I get the time.....but 5 months...now that is making it hard for me to get on the wagon there.
Is it for you to wear?
I think it is amazing...Good work!

Well, I have to say that in addition to being in awe of your skill and eye for color, I am inspired by you!  I noticed a few people here in the last 14 pages are thinking about making one for themselves.  Pretty cool, right!

That skirt is absolutely stunning! Seriously- amazing!

If I wasn't convinced I couldn't possibly make it as well as you did- I might try to make my own, starting right now with an all-nighter... I just adore it that much!!!
