Hi everyone. I need some advise. I made this bag for electronic gadgets and I used quilting batting for the padding. I sewed the batting to the lining and zipper but when I turned it inside out all the batting some how bunched up and ended up on one side of the bag. I've sewed with batting before on other bags with no problem but this one doesn't want to work. Should I use Pellon fleece instead or is there something else I can be using? Thanks for any advise.

I use something called Insul-Brite which is a kind of batting w/insulation for water bottle holders & what I do is I quilt the Insul-Brite to the lining & it creates a quilted fabric - it's not going anywhere. You might try that. Nice bag, btw.

I've used quilting batting many times in my bags, but I always quilt them in so it stays put.  That's going to work better for you.

If you don't want a quilted look but you need the padding, you might want to try the spray on mounting stuff...it hold the batting to the fabric until you can turn it inside out or catch it in your seams...be careful not to spray it too close to the seamline as it can gunk up your needle...you can buy this spray in any fabric store...the name escapes me right now as I am not at home staring at it...

I have used it on laptop bags and it seems to be holding up just fine...of course, I have yet to wash the grudgy thing... Cheesy

I like the fabric and the size of the bag!

Thanks for the replies. I didn't even think about quilting the batting. My brain is slow motion now a days. I blame the heat.
