This isn't really anything impressive, but I've been so lacking in motivation to sew lately that I felt like I should post it. I had a skirt that I bought from Target about a year ago that I loved so much I wanted to duplicate it (to keep myself from wearing that same skirt all the time!). So I basically just took some measurements of it and tried my best to make my own pattern. It didn't come out too bad, all things considered. I wound up adding the black trim at the bottom because I cut it too short at first (oops). It was definitely a learning experience...skirt number 2 will be much easier now!

The black top is something that I whipped up in about 30 minutes. Basically, I was going out of town to see some friends and figured out at about 2am the morning of the day I was leaving that I didn't have crap to wear. So...I made this tank top that works nice for layering. I'm really surprised at how well it turned out (usually things I throw together wind up in the scrap bin!) and it's quickly become one of my most-worn items.

Anyway, enough babbling...here are pictures!

These are from a photo session I had with a photographer friend of mine a few days ago, I had to sort of pick through them to find any that show the skirt and top well. I also posted the first image to lookbook.nu/shona, so give me a hype if you're on there as well Smiley

That is a really cute outfit! I love the layering =] and the black top reminds me of this seasons waist coats!   Cheesy

Cute outfit, I love the match between the skirt and the top, and I like the black trim of the skirt!
And, girl, those pictures are fantastic, and the contrast with the black and gray of the clothes, your beautiful red hair and the green grass is wonderful! Cheesy

Great outfit!
But I have to tell you that I did a double take when I saw the last picture. You look strikingly similar to my best friend from junior high! You're beautiful and so was she!  Smiley

You own this look!  It all looks so good on you!  Great job on the skirt.  You have a great eye for putting the whole look together!

Cute.  The colors give it a military feel.

This is a really nice, complete-looking outfit. I'd wear it any day.

Also, your model (maybe it's you?) reminds me of a redheaded Jennifer Garner.
