so i bought this tank top from good ol' target and i realized it was a little more revealing in the bust area, but i didn't return it because it had GREAT potential......the tank itself is this really fun sparkle mauve color and it has adjustable straps and a shelf bra.....i had an "AH-HA!" moment.  i wanted to have the aspects of a great camisole style dress, but i didn't want to mess with adding the straps and putting in a shelf bra....it was so simple....i just added ruffle-ly goodness to the bottom hem to the desired length.....
so i ravaged my ever growing fabric and clothing to recon stashes & found my Indian costume from a play in elementary school. my mom used this fabulous faux buckskin that is also quite stretchy....
oh ya, i also used my own bias tape for the solid color & a paisley cotton from the aforementioned stash.....
stitch stitch stitch and voila!

i recommend this style recon for everyone to try....it very satisfying.....

oh i almost forgot....i made some belted pockets to wear over the dress.....because most of the fabrics were stretchy i didn't want the pockets with stuff in them to weigh down the dress.....they tie on in the back...very elvish if i do say so myself..... Wink

enjoy and thanks for looking.......

Ooh I love the sparkly material! Before I couldn't imagine a sparkly top and an indian costume looking at all good together but you've pulled it off, it's great!

wow! great recon! i also love the pockets. i've been wanting a little saddle-bags belt for some time now (calling it tie-on pockets sounds way sexier than saddle-bag belt).
