So I checked my email today and got the Burda Style newsletter. I saw they had a new retro style swimsuit. I went and looked at it and had to make it right away. I printed it all out and guessed what size I would be cut everything out of some fabric that I got at Value Village for a really good deal. I started sewing and realized the instructions were missing some info, so I just went with it and "made it work for" (yeah Tim Gunn, Project Runway). Needless to say I am absolutely in love with it, flaws and all. I am going to try again this week with some learned adjustments. Well here are the pics:

Let me know what you think.

This is adorable! I am in the middle of making a swimsuit (sewing by hand, no less!) but I can't come up with a cute style for a one piece. It's so vintage!

Cute!  I am not so much into two-peice bathing suits, and saw this pattern as well- you really pull it off!  I love the color, that blue is so pretty.  You were saying that the pattern was missing a part-do you mean the instructions weren't clear?

Correct, the instructions weren't clear and there was some notches missing from the pattern pieces. There were some unmarked pieces also. Common sense solves all the problems except for the notches, but I am working on how to fix that. Overall it is a pretty easy suit to make. It only took me an hour and a half to do from piecing the pattern to finished state.

I got that newsletter too!  Grin In fact, I'm considering making the same suit, lol! (Only in red, I think, it's what I have on hand.)

Yours looks great! Love it!
