I took a horror movie class (college!) several semesters back because I am a huge horror buff, and, to my great enjoyment, my instructor required two media projects during the semester. I made an altered book with classic horror films (which I will post once I finally get it back from my instructor!), and this altered box themed around my favorite horror series, the SAW films.

I painted the box black and had fun splattering it with red paint to give it a gorey effect. Then, I sculpted four teeth and attached them to the underside of the lid with black string so that they'll dangle when you open the box. Then, I layered the bottom of the box with various, threatening-looking tools, the inside sides with pictures from all four films, and topped it off with a Sculptey version of the super-creepy Jigsaw! I gave him a bow tie, fuzzy black hair, and, yes, a mini saw! I had in-construction pictures of him, but they're on my old phone *rest in peace*, haha.

The overall shot of the box...

The outside... (excuse the glare, it's actually just solid black)

The teeth! (they look much more realistic in person-- my teacher actually freaked when he saw them because he thought they might be real! haha)

Close-up of the little man! (bow tie's there but crooked...)

He's so cute in a super-creepy way! I lurve him  Cheesy (check out his saw!)

Another angle...

What do you think?  Smiley

That is so cool! Jigsaw looks creepy and fantastic! Damn I wish they had horror movie classes back when I was in college!
I would love to make something similar based on the Halloween movies (except Halloween III).

Yeah, I must admit I got pretty lucky when they started teaching one of my favorite hobbies at the local community college  Cheesy- what's better than spending the afternoon twice a week watching the classics of horror, and getting to craft too? Pretty sweet deal, I gotta say! Grin

I am definitely not a horror movie fan, but absolutely love your scene!!  Very well done, and lots of good thought went into the design and details.  Hope you got an A because you deserved it.

Btw, when you said this:

I at first thought you'd made the teeth as "feet" to put on the bottom of the box, which would have been a great idea too...lolol.  A friend of mine has put all kinds of feet-feet under her covered Altoids boxes to show you a bit larger version:

Thanks! Yeah, they really messed up with Halloween when they just refused to leave a classic, a, well, classic-- the sequels after 2 just plain sucked!

Thanks for the comments! That's so funny-- I would have never thought to put them on the bottom but that may have actually been pretty cool! Your friend's designs are so cute and very original; thanks for sharing!
