This is my first post here. I'm usually hanging out over on the crochet boards and it's been a long time since I did any cross stitching, but I just finished these and wanted to share.

I still have to trim them, but they are going to be bookmarks that I'm giving to my two best girlfriends for Christmas. (Yes, I'm already working on Christmas stuff, crazy!)

I got the basic pattern from NeedleNoodles who designed them and has them available for free on her blog (http://needlenoodles.com/home/?q=node/80). Then I came up with the phrases (that suited my friends) and made some colour changes.

I wanted the vampires to be reminiscient of Spike and Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I used Ecru for the skin tone and for Angel's hair I used DMC 938 and 898. Spike's hair is DMC 3045 and 3046 and that tiny blue patch on his shirt is 931. I couldn't resist adding the bit of blood and frown to Spike. He doesn't like being cross stitched and he's not happy standing this close to Angel  Smiley

Less changes here. For the light grey on the ninjas I used DMC 414 because I wanted them to be a little lighter than the pattern recommends. The purple ninja is DMC 209 and 208.

They were a lot of fun to make, but I haven't cross stitched in about four years. I had forgotten how long it takes to complete even the smallest of areas.

Thanks for looking!

I've started my own crochet blog, have a look...http://cthulhucrochet.blogspot.com/

I've been hanging out on the cute and creepy board over in the crochet section and dreaming about the day I'll be able to work on these little guys. Now I have more cross stitching in the form of these characters to do. Thanks a heap! lol

Actually, I do thank you for posting the link. If I can't get the crocheting to come out I know I can do something with the cross stitiching.

These look great, and the sayings are clever too. I also like the Spike "isn't happy about standing this close to Angel." That's funny.  Smiley

HAHAHAHA!!! I love it! I knew who the vampires were supposed be right away, which either means you're really good of I'm really nerdy. Or both.
