Hello everyone =) This is my very first project post on Craftster so I thought I would introduce myself with the simplest of my ongoing obsessions. I love going out to goodwill/salvation army/garage sales to find somewhat ugly things to alter, and most of you are kindred in that way of course. My favorite finds are  old (and many times made of cheap plastic) tracery and filigree decorations. They almost always have imitation gilding so I started altering them to match my taste better.
I found these two giant wall keys at Goodwill. They used to be a hideous gold so naturally, I made them magenta. I used a darker shade in the crevices to accentuate the details of the molding.
Then the frame below is part of a set of three of the same size. I'm only posting this one for now because I haven't put anything inside of the other two yet. I painted the picture inside based on an old damaged postcard from the '40s. Enjoy!

That is too friggin awesome.
Your books are awesome as well.

If The Flintstones has taught us anything, it's that pelicans can be used to mix cement.
Don't look back, you aren't going that way.
