July is here and Vancouver is just starting to warm up...

In honour of the sun, Mike wanted some summer shorts.  We popped over to dressew and he picked out the blue fabric.

Anyway... They are pretty basic shorts. No zipper, no pockets, but with a large buckle and sort of faux-belt to help them stay up  Smiley

The blue is stretchy, the black is soft and kind of fuzzy.  Without further ado:

He seems to like them!  Here they are...

Yay sunshine!  Grin

It is hard to find good shorts! There also seems to be this idea that if you're a bigger guy that you want to dress solely in oatmeal and moss colours.  Mike is more peacock and tangerine...  Cheesy

Grin Thanks all!  So far the only downfall is that his clippy suspenders don't seem to like holding them up...  Roll Eyes

Maybe you can insert a draw string or add some belt loops to the waste band.

Good taste in fabric.  I love bright and stand out fabrics.  People arounf may not like my fabric but I like being different.  I love the shorts.  Did you use a pattern?  If so which one?  I like them.  I'm always making boxers.

Thanks for the feedback all  Grin
The shorts continue to be put to good use, as amazingly, we still have sunshine and summer!

In respsonse:

1. Belt loops = excellent idea

2. No pattern, per se... I cut apart a pair of his old jeans to make last year's shorts... and then cut those shorts apart to use as the basis for these.   Grin
