After watching a "how to" video on YouTube.com about making a 12 plait bull whip, I decided to try my hand at making a lime green whip for my daughters costume out of cheaper materials.

I used green poly rope, which I unraveled for the 2 layer thong, wrist strap, fall, and cracker.  I used Duct tape for the belly and a pencil for a handle.  Ended up only costing $2 ($1 each of rope and duct tape).  It took forever to braid.  But, I'm still amazed that it really cracks!

Growing up on a farm I came to hate those bull whips.  But yours looks really neat for a costume accesorie!

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.
