My 5 year old (that I take care of) and I sewed today. She wanted a dress. So, we made one. She picked out the fabric (I brought a bunch to choose from to her house) and she decided in what order she wanted the patchwork to be. Then she worked the pedal of the sewing machine while I guided the fabric through. She came up with the idea of having the straps tie around her neck, which ended up being a great idea, and she choose the length - to the ankle and a flat hem without trim. We completed the whole project in two hours!!   Tongue

They are both adorable (dress and little girl). You girls did a great job! I dig the tie strap too.

It's wonderful and I like how you included her in the whole thing. We do that at our house too and it is such fun. Your little one is very elegant and has lovely taste as well.

That is too cute! The child is adorable as well. The dress looks very cool and comfortable in this hot summer.

I think this dress is adorable!  I just showed my 5 year old and now she's green with envy!!!

I think it's great that she wanted to help you make it.  My wee one wants NOTHING to do with the making of the dress... only the fabric choice and style choice.  I keep trying to get her involved but she is absolutely against it...

Three Cheers for another wonderful creation!!!!

What a great project! I like all the colorful fabrics together. I fear if I let my 4-year-old run the pedal though I'd never be able to keep up with his speed!
