I'm always very surprised how different the colours look in the spun yarn compared to the original batt/roving! Of course the more you spin, the better you can predict how it will look like.

Because of this I thought I'd set up a homepage for posting photo-pair of spinning fiber and resulting yarn. This way you could learn a bit and of course drool over the lovely fiber/yarn.
Of course I'm lazy so I just set up a flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/fibertoyarn/

Or do you guys think we should start a thread here for this purpose? The only bad thing is that threads tend to clog up with photoless post of admiration...  Wink

Thanks for posting this.  I am a newbie & struggle with which colorways to buy because I have a hard time invisioning what it will look like after I spin it.

Thanks for posting this!

I do have a suggestion, though - you could ask people to tag the roving/yarn photo pairs with the yarn/roving name or number or whatever, because if you have 15 rovings in only slightly different colourways and as many finished yarns, it's hard to tell which roving belongs with which finished yarn. For example, if you have a roving called "Sea foam", you could tag the roving and the yarn photo with "sea foam".

And you've all got some beautiful yarns there Cheesy
