Everyone's yarn is looking fabulous!

Yay! It's my first Fiber Friday post. I attempted plying for the first time with just part of an Ugly Batt. They're thick, thin, and and have lots of texture, but I don't think it's too bad for a first try.

This is Monet. The picture was taken while it was still on my kick spindle after I finished it this morning. It's about 100ish yards.

...and this is Monet Jr. It's about 43 yards.

Corespinners of the world, unite!  I'm completely in love with corespinning right now.  There's a ton of goodness this week, too.  Current favorites:  Stormy Skies, Repo's Hobbledehoy yarn, Turk, isamax's corespun (which reminds me so much of a Berenese Mountain Dog I expected it to sit up and bark at me!), jazzturtle's beaded goodness, feral's big-ass box o' handspun...  I'm in fiber overload right now.

I've got three for this week (I hope one isn't a repeat - I think I missed last Fiber Friday).  The first is my Bjork 2 yarn, which is a thick and thin single of wool, soy silk, hemp, etc, plied with a commercial feathery yarn:

Next is Fuzzy Tomatoes, which is a red and green Wensleydale corespun yarn plied, and then boucle plied with some leftover soy silk and alpaca.  Travis dyed the Wensleydale and thought it was... odd, but it turned out to rock being corespun:

And finally, all of my bobbins had leftover singles on them, so I wound up doing another Bobbin Cleaner skein.  I really like this one:

I love the Bobbin Clearer, yarnzombie! I have so many odds and ends of singles lying around, I someday will get around to doing one of these.

What can I say Jazzturtle, you hit a home run every week and if I weren't so broke Carribean Dream would be coming home with me.

I am also in love with Summer Camp and Rainy Days as well as Carbonated Sunshine.

I love fibre Friday.
Sid & Nancy and summer camp and rainy days are my favs , but i love all the yarns on fibre Friday.
Here is mine. I had a go at core spinning this week. The core is crochet thread and the covering in jacob locks that i brought ages ago.  64gs/70m

and a close up

it is a little bit over spun, not sure how to stop that from happening.

happy fibre Friday everyone

everything looks so wonderful, and i am adoring that summer camp and rainy days yarn, sensiblytacky.

so i spun my first yarn about saturday and was waiting all week to post.
then haven't gotten a chance to spin since because of end of school insanity. @[email protected]
and here we are:

farmland
only 4.5 yds, but i still love it.
four fibres from hobbledehoy's 12 pack sampler on etsy plus pieces of a storebought.
- loose tussah silk noil
- water-retted flax top
- hemp top
- natural colored soy silk
- bits of moda dea tweedledee in sagebrush colorway

halfway spun up

still on the spindle

in a mini skein

it all makes a bit excited for when i actually get full-size roving. :3
