ok so i saw this awesome tutorial by e.r.i.k.a ( https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22875.0 ) but i can't figure out how to attatch like a strap thing. What I'm going for is a zippered pouch that i can attatch to my key ring for like when i got the gym, so just like a little strap thing that i'll put a key ring on so any help. The answer is probably staring me straight in the face but i cant figure it out so any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

if you're still confused about what im going for heres a pic

I think I understand what you are asking.  You want to know how to put the strap on the side like that, right?  If so, you will make your strap and sew it into the side as you sew the front and back pieces of the exterior fabric together.

Before you sew it into the side seam, remember to put your key hardware in before you sew or if you are using a split ring, you could try to work it on after (not always easy).
