Do you remember this:
A B C D goldfish?
LMNO goldfish!
OSARD goldfish....
C D B D iiiiiiii's

(Abby see the goldfish? Them ain't no goldfish! Oh yes they are the goldfish... see the beady eyes)

I had a big skein of 'kraft macaroni and cheese' coloured yarn so I decided to make a gold fish and he had to have googly eyes:

(and yes, there is still lots and lots of macaroni and cheese colour yarn for me to use up)

I made it from this free pattern: http://www.youarenotyourjob.com/kendra/2008/01/crochet-goldfish-pattern.htm

That's fantastic! I may just have to make it. I don't usually like crochet animals very much but this one is great. I have most of a ball of a bright yellow yarn left... Great job! I love the mouth.

Thanks. I loved his lip pucker too - he's got lots of little parts but it's worth it!

Very cute. I don't remember the song, but we probably just had different ads here. I really like the goldfish and you're right, he needed googly eyes. I also love that yarn, it really is a macaroni and cheese colour!

I've started my own crochet blog, have a look...http://cthulhucrochet.blogspot.com/

Took me a minute to figure out the saying ... the one I remember went something like this:
ABCD mice {or goldfish, lol)
MNO mice
LIB MR mice

Hey, Bea, see the mice?
'Em ain't no mice
Oh Yes 'em are
see 'em itty bitty (iddy biddy) eyes
well, I'll be, 'em are mice!

Great job on the goldfish!  Makes me wish I could crochet.

Hey, Bea, see the mice?

Nope! Haaah, my name is Bea.

I saw this pattern many moons ago, but I thought it looked a little skinny. Yours, on the other hand looks nice and plump. Did you alter the pattern at all?

HippieKender - thanks!  Cheesy That was fun. I hadn't heard your version but I like it too!

CrochetHooker12 - that's funny that your name is Bea and you read that comment.... I didn't intentionally alter the pattern, perhaps I got lost in the stitches... Also, I once read the advise for stuffing crocheted items and that is to stuff until no more can be added, and the put some more in!!! Grin Grin
