this is an embroidered portrait of my friend abigail.  i did the design from a blind drawing i did of her at an art show.  it ended up looking not so blind, so i just cleaned it up a little and made it into an embroidery.

yeah, most of my blind drawings look a lot more wonky.  i did alter this one in that i stuck her face back where it belonged on her head.  Smiley

someone told me it looks like she's sitting on a piece of pie ... i wish i'd thought of that!  i guess i could tell people she is.  she does like pie.

DANG IT!  I wish I could draw... =)  Nice color combination and great art, how large is this piece?  What did you choose to embroider on?

Human rights are for EVERYONE.  Did you know that Aung San Suu Kyi had been released from house arrest in Burma? Many other prisoners of conscience are still being detained.  Please research this topic... Amnesty International needs your help.

thanks!  it's on just plain white cotton, the cheapie stuff from the fabric store.  it is fairly small, probably about 5 by 4 inches.  i usually work a lot bigger but i am enjoying the speed (and ease of transport!) of working a bit smaller.
