all right, let me begin by pointing out that i am not an artist. at all. i am strictly artistic with my sewing machine. yeah, i doodle (and then throw them away!), and sketch clothing designs (and hide them)... but that's the limit to my abilities. occasionally, i'd get this wild hair that makes me all OMG PAINT RIGHT NOW, but it's a no for the most part.

i did push out a couple recently that i actually am impressed with. i painted them on cardstock with some cheap acrylics i bought at cvs. i sketched all of them before painting; the first and last are loosely based on pictures, just to get a general idea of where shading needs to go and stuff.

i did this one because i wanted a unicorn painting. it's in a white frame by my bed now Grin i tried to make it as cliche as possible, but it was missing something...

a pot of gold, obviously! and butterflies! ok, the shading on this one is terrible, like embarrassing terrible. i ended up giving it to this boy i was seeing (he looked like zac hanson, but that's a different story) who i am no longer seeing. maybe he didn't like unicorns.

i gave this one to a friend that saw the previous two paintings and demanded one of her own. the expression on the eagle's face cracks me up every time i look at it; i laughed the whole time i painted. AND HE'S CRYING AN AMERICAN FLAG TEAR. hahaha!!

and that's it.
i doubt i will pull out the paints again. i just needed to get it out of my system. but feel free to offer constructive criticism!

i only meant to kill you."

Unicorns rule Wink  And I love the eagle, too . . . a little tongue-in-cheek, perhaps?
