This swanky new shirt started out as 2 vintage Star Wars shirts, neither of which fit. The blue one was pretty threadbare and had that "if you wear me, I will disintegrate" look to it. So after these shirts stayed hidden in my "to reconstruct" pile for several years I finally had an idea for them. When I was little my mum used to sew strips of fabric along the sides of my shirts when I grew out of them yet refused to part with them. Clever lady. So I did that here, using strips of blue to make the white shirt more roomy. I also used some reverse applique to add the badass blue design onto the back of the white shirt. My partner chose a decorative stitch pattern (sorta visible in the applique detail shot) and is also quite fond of the Sealab 2021 style blue sleeve inset.

BEFORE: Too big & threadbare

BEFORE: Too small and the sleeves get all bunchy under the pit

Hooray for reconstructing! And for Star Wars! And exclamation points!!!1
