Now, I know that this is rubbish, and unpainted, and a bit messy, but I am still proud of it. I am not a natural with ceramics, but I tried my best. This is my cup inspired by Physallis! If you don't know what a physallis is, its also called a cape goseberry, if you still don't know, its this:

I made this in a slab building workshop, it did have a leaf saucer but unfortunately it brok in transit  Cry.

Oooh!  I like this.

Are you planning to do anything else to it?  My inclination would be to fire it again without paint or glazing.  I did that once and what I made came out looking very old.

Beautiful, I could never quite get natural looking leaves, and I was always worried that they would get broken in the kiln. I love this piece Smiley

That looks gorgeous, and very elegant! I'm actually in ceramics right now making a cup for my boyfriend, with his pet snake going around the cup, and his plate is a leaf as well!

I love slab built work especially flower and organic driven stuff! Can not wait to see what it looks like once you glaze it! some stains would do really well in those cracks. ^.^

Thankyou everyone, ideally I would like to make another one and then stain/glaze it, but I will have to wait until september when I get access to a kiln again, my college year is finished now so I have to wait until uni  Tongue plus, I don't really know enough about painting and glazing to do a good job yet. I like the idea of firing it twice though, may try that!

ANd byt he way, for the leaves I rolled a cabbage leaf over it to get the veins, that works quite well. And a snake cup sounds really cool! Will you post it when you're done, I'd love to see?
