Upon seeing Mloopy's garden gnome poppet here on craftster, I knew it was the perfect project for my friends birthday this coming Saturday. She is a master gardener and horticulturist. Craftster friend Mloopy sent me her great ammendments to ghilie's wonderful poppet pattern and away I went.

Being only my second poppet I decided to try eyelids since I ove everyone elses. I just cut them out and glued them on with crazy glue. They came out okay, but not as nice as I had hoped. I'm really happy with his beard and hair, he's bald underneath his hat (which I still have to fasten into place), but the yarn I used was very fuzzy and made quite a mess while I trimmed him up. He needed a good lint rolling afterwards.

I couldn't use craftewomans clothing patterns since they wouldn't fit, so I played around with my own. I'm very happy with his jeans, his shirt not so much. But everything is hidden away under his beard so no one would ever know. I played around with several hats before I found one that fit okay, and I still may make a few more until it's perfect.

So, without further ado, here's "Mloopy" named after his creator. I've purchased a plant pot and some moss to pack him in for the party on Saturday.

Oh I just love all the little gnome poppets that keep popping up all over the place! Hes super cute! His clothes and beard are perfect! You did a fabulous job! Grin

Great job, and as you say, you can't tell that there's anything wrong with his shirt. He looks so cute!
