i'm sure there is a post similar to this scattered on the boards somewhere but i was just wondering if anybody knows of a few really good cooking/recipe blogs? i have been in a cooking fit for the past week and am interested in trying out some new & different recipes. i have been checking out coconut & lime for a while now, and i'm really interested in finding other sites like it.

so do you have your own or know of some blogs like this one?  thanks a ton!!

Although I am not Vegan myself, I adore reading Vegan Lunchbox! http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/

Her blog is wonderful and all the recipes sound de-lish!

i'm obsessed with http://www.tastespotting.com/

basically, users submit a picture of food they've made (and occasionally food related products or articles) along with a quick caption to what it is.  the pictures then link to blogs that feature full recipes.

i've wasted HOURS (start on tastespotting, link to someone's blog, search around that for a while, follow more links from there... it's an addiction) and found a zillion recipes i want to try.  it's definitely exposed me to a lot of blogs that i don't think i would have found on my own.

I'll third www.smittenkitchen.com.  Beautiful pictures and great recipes.  I love the caramelized tofu.
Also www.cookingforengineers.com is a lot of fun, because I love step by step pictures.  I like www.route79.org/journal/ for that reason too.  More Indian food, and a lot of stuff other than recipes, but easily navigatable.  Then there is www.joyofbaking.com if you need to fatten up for some occasion.  Grin

While it is not a single blog, the carnival of the recipes is a traveling post hosted by a different blog each week.  There is usually a theme and folks submit their recipes.  The host organizes them and posts it for all to see.  By following the links to the various posts you can usually find a bunch of foodie blogs.

Since it travels around you can always find the newest link by going to blog carnival.  http://blogcarnival.com/bc/cprof_13.html
Shawn Lea has been managing it for a number of years and has been doing a fantastic job.

She has some great recipes, the instructions are very clear, and most of her recipes are pretty versatile.

I'm going to third   http://www.elise.com/recipes/   because not only are her recipes delicious, she has a super handy google search function on her page; you type in an ingredient or two hit search, and you're able to find results from other blogs she links to.  very very useful
