Does anybody know if it's possible to make magnets using one of those button/badge makers. I want to make magnets that look exactly like the buttons/badges but that have magnets (obviously) in place of the pin part. Anybody know how I could do this?

I've done this before with my one-inch button maker.  I got a bunch of circular magnets from the Dollar Store and used glue to stick the magnets in place where the pins usually go.  I've used super glue and a glue gun, but both are pretty lousy.  If I do magnets in the future, I'll use some sort of double sided sticky pads instead.

Use ceramic magnets.  They're strong and they last.

I've done the same thing with my 1 inch, and I've also made magnets out of those hello kitty badge maker pins, which look fantastic, so much better than the pins do.

i think they sell magnet parts at www.buybuttonparts.com. the downside to only having magnets is never being able to use it as a pin. if it is truly magnetic, you shouldn't need glue to attach it.

Check out American Button Machines at www.AmericanButtonMachines.com
They sell ceramic magnets that work great with 1" and larger Button Makers.
