Uh...So the guy I am seeing just had his car stolen. Yeah...it was in front of my house when it went missing too. So I feel terrible. So awful. I have never ever had trouble with stolen goods in the two years I have lived here and now BAM a car gets stolen.  Angry

So I feel really bad and want to make/ give this guy a bit of something nice just to say "Hey, that sucks. I'm sorry some people are jerks". I do not want to go down the sappy gross pukey gift route as it is a new friendship thing.

I was thinking of making him a nice dinner......but that seems so trite. Then I thought maybe I could make him some cupcakes or cookies. But I don't know if that is too.....odd. A bottle of wine, maybe? I thought it would be funny to get a nicer bottle of wine and put a note on it that said: "I knew you wouldn't be driving for awhile so I thought you could put this to good use." haha. Maybe I'll go to the used book store and look for some of his favorite authors and make him a little card.

What do you think? Should I even bother?

showing some sympathy is never wrong.

I like the idea with the wine-bottle or dinner invitation.

Totally off-topic, but when I read the post name, I thought it said "Sorry your cat was stolen."  Oops.   Roll Eyes

I'm kinda snarky that way, but perhaps the club? Wink

you know....my bf's mazda tribute was stolen from outside of my house too (it was a few years ago). He was in chicago & he let me keep it to drive to work. honestly the hardest part wasnt telling him that it was stolen...the hardest part was telling him they found it.... burned to a shell! Whoever stole it blew it up! I didnt get him anything, I just offered to make the calls & stuff for him. and to help out anyway that I could. we had only been dating for a couple of months...honestly, we laugh about it now...

so i would definitely suggest getting the club & the wine. one for while he is waiting to get a new car & one for when he gets it---so he can keep it this time! Or an alarm system for it!!!

honestly, I'd buy him a bike...  you two could go out for romantic bike rides together and picnics not to mention I think its kinda hot when a guy in a suit rides a bike... it might just be me though....

He smells good, he really does! He smells like root beer.
