i am the same way. but i tend to find swaps that require me to down size my GINORMOUSLY HUGE stash. i tend to try something and buy all the things required for that craft then once i've got it figured out or something new comes along . . . i'm like a goldfish . . . oo shiny . . . and put that stuff away and onto a new thing! so my partner might get plenty but 90% is from my stash. i think my most expensive item in this swap will be developing photos for my tutorial

Walgreens is having an online upload sale!  You can pick them up at the store and they are 15 cents each Smiley  I am so a goldfish when it comes to papercrafting!

I just received from ConfusableBlonde! She sent me an awesome polymer clay kit. Included was a scrapbook of directions and inspirations, a pack of Sculpey with 30 different colors, clear glaze, an exacto knife with 6 different blades, eyepins, and magnets. And a special surprise from her sister, but I'll get to that later.  Wink

A closeup of the first page of the scrapbook

ConfusableBlonde said that her sister wanted to try out polymer clay too. She sent me 3 extras. They're figurines of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley! Someone remembered my Harry Potter obsession, lol! ConfusableBlonde, you need to give your sister a big hug thanks from me, and get her some more Sculpey for her birthday or Christmas, she's really good!

Thanks for being an awesome partner, and thank you bluwave06 for organizing! Now I need to go shut down my computer because it's about to thunderstorm!

They are now sitting on the shelf that holds all of my HP books. I need to go superglue Harry's arms back on though, they fell off somewhere on their journey across the country. But it was a clean break at the joint, so it shouldn't be that hard to fix.

Those HP characters are fantastic - I love their hair!!

I finally have pics uploaded of my bookbinding kit from elvissatx!  I was going to post them, but I can't get the photobucket widget to work.  Let's see if I can do it manually from there.  Angry

First up is the instruction manual and all the paper/material goodies.  Here we have (in the folders) diagrams, Paper for Text Block, Bookcloth/sheets/decorative papers and Misc.  The little brown things are binders board.

This is one of the instruction manual pages - elvissatx really went to a lot of trouble to be detailed.  Good thing as I need lots of visuals! Cheesy

And what's this, you ask?

Why it's all the tools I could possibly need!

She also sent a book that she made that is simply beautiful and flawless.  Here's the front:

and the back:

Thank you so much elvissatx!!  It's an amazing kit!

I love the polymer clay and bookbinding kits.  If there is another round I might have to add those two to my wish list.

Yay!  I'm glad you like the kit, SevsOnlyGirl!  Did you figure out that the book I sent (which is far from perfect, although thank you for saying so) is the book I made in the tutorial?

That tutorial was a lot of fun to write, and I'm thinking about modifying it a bit and putting it all up on a blog so that others can use it too.

Don't forget to take pictures of your books and post them!  I want to see what you create!

Cool!  I made the Best of 2009 twice!   Check 'em out!

I'm going to pick a day when my friend Jan is working with me to use the tutorial. Cheesy  She's made books before and she's very interested in your tutorial and stuff - so we thought we would do some together.
