I just love this!  I think the color theme for the buttons does it for me, it makes the whole project look very professional!

You all totally rock! Thanks for turning this into a Featured Project - it is totally a rad feeling.

Isabella000, I'm not sure if the mineral oil would work in between layers but it might on a final layer. I'm really curious now - I may have to try this out. If I do, I will definitely get back to you and let you know.

aquamarine007, resin is SO much easier than I thought it would be when I used it for the first time. Having clear instructions definitely helps, and do a little experimenting, too. You'll wind up having a lot of fun, I bet. I know I am still having a great time using resin.

Someone mentioned using a glass table top to get the same effect. I think the end result might look similar, but you'd have to figure out how to keep the glass level. All of these buttons are different shapes and sizes, and some of them come up nearly to the lip of the recessed part of the table. You might have to find (or build) a table with a deeper recess to really make a glass top work.

And it didn't really take THAT long. Placing the buttons went a lot faster than I was expected - all told that part took around 3-4 hours. Waiting for everything to dry (spray paint, layers of resin) was really the excruciating part!

Thanks again, craftsters!

OMG I love it!  I have never been a huge button fan but this rocks! (yes I click it!)  The colors are the best.  I love green and you have some awesome shades of it in there.  Great work, thanks for sharing!

serious rockage!! (really, I had to come up with a new way to say this rocks Wink

As with many others, you have inspired me to attempt resin.  I have a half-finished hostess tray begging for resin.  The greens are just stunning.  Smiley
