I just have to say this is a great idea! I'm a Bmore girl myself and love that bilboard too. I not sure what the best way to make the figures would be. Maybe to go with the flat thing, you could try cutting the faces of cardstock and drawing or painting the faces. To make the bodies sturdy, you might try popsicle sticks or clothes pins as someone else mentioned. Just a thought... can't wait to see how you end up making them.

If I were trying to do this, I would just reproduce the image in 2d and attach it to some wood or board and leave it as a 2d image, or cardboard cut-out if you will.  Why mess with the original?

I really like the shrink art idea. That way they have their original dimension but are sturdy. It would be easy to make so one less wedding headache!

I think the mini billboard idea would be adorable, and you could make it out of a sugar cookie, ice the top and paint the two characters on with food coloring if you are, or someone you know is, good at painting.  Many places that do custom cakes also do other things, such as cookies, and I'm sure it wouldn't be that expensive to get them to customize it with those characters.

This is a brilliant idea!  Then you can save the cookie for your first anniversary instead of or in addition to the top part of cake!  If you use shortbread it will probably hold up pretty well in the freezer, too.   Wink

I like the idea of putting the image itself on something flat.  Maybe a three- or four-sided topper with the edges touching each other, each side with the same image as the billboard, so it can be seen from all angles.  When looking at the topper from above, it would be a triangle (three-sided) or a square (four-sided).
