So here's the very first embroidery i ever did. I found this old cross-stitch book called Alice in Stitches and made a pattern for embroidery. To make a long story short, i finished my masterpiece and then promptly ruined the fun red bag that i had embroidered on (don't ask). So now i've cut out the part that Alice was on and am now trying to make it work as a patch on another (not as cool) bag. Right now everything is just kinda pinned down but i don't feel like it's looking right. Please share your ideas!

first of all, that embroidery is totally awesome in a somewhat creepy way. secondly, i'm not really feeling it on the black bag either. i think it would look sweet on a brown courdoroy tote  Smiley

That's cool, I like it Grin Alice is awesome..
ANYWHO, maybe you could balance the heart off with some smaller red hearts at other odd angles, so it looks like they're floating up the bag.. if that makes sense.. LOL Cheesy

ok cool. these ideas are great! i'm glad it wasn't just me feeling like the bag just wasn't working - looks like i'm gonna have to head to the thrifties to find something better. I like the idea of the hearts floating up (very Alice-falling-into-the-rabbit-hole) ...so i'll keep an eye out for a bag that's really deep...

i'll keep you posted...

That's the vial that holds the shrinking potion.  The tags say, "Drink me".  Take just a tiny sip!
