Wheeee! My first go at spinning and my first fiber friday!

I cobbled together a little spindle for myself earlier this week and had a go at some Welsh Mountain. This is what happened.

Jazzturtle- Your yarns are always so amazing.  I love your bamboo yarn!

And Straw into Gold is beautiful.

This week I have some semi-solid green sportweight superwash wool.  It's about 370yds.

And this is from some bamboo roving that I ordered from Traditions Fiber Arts on Etsy.  It varies from lace to fingering weight and is about 170 yds.  It was only 2oz.  I ended up with 189yds of yarn.  I love this.

I have just these two for the past few weeks:

Both superwash, both as-of-yet unmeasured and reskeined to be all pretty. The pink one was done with jacquard dyes, the other was using wilton's cake dyes.

This thread is so awesome!  I had to open a second window so I could respond to everything as I read it!

Jazzturtle, I LOVE Looks Like Rain and Cherry Blossom looks like so much fun!

Isamax and DevotedPlanet, your yarns are beautiful!

NotQuiteScooterTrash:  Bruised Bananas is beautiful!  I think it looks great.  This is totally a compliment, but it reminds me of the Dead Milkmen song "Smokin' Banana Peels".

FeralFeminine, I love Goldfish, the colors are so tranquil.  And normally I'm really not a yellow type of person.

KathleenAlice:  Congrats!!  That yarn looks great!  My first Fiber Friday was just a couple of weeks ago.  Doesn't it feel great? Cheesy

Marlana, the pale pale is luscious!

Lyme, once again I'm blown away by the yellow/orange colorways this week, which is totally unlike me.  That yarn is beautiful.

Here's my relative feeble offering, compared to everyone else.  It's wool top, my first attempts on the wheel.  The "solid" blue is a double-plied bulky, and was the product of my first spinning-wheel class.  The multi-color, dyed to match, is a worsted, obviously slightly overspun, but I still love it.  I think there'll be enough for a funky scarf with funky bulky ends.  They're both dyed with Kool-aid.  I am posting so late because I had to wait for it to dry before I could hank it for the pic.

My turn (love straw into gold, by the way!)

These are slightly late, but I wanted to hit Friday, so pardon the crappy lighting.

Yarn: Plied Compliments 100% Silk
Colorway: Mermaid
Yardage: ~125
Weight: Light fingering to lace
Hand dyed and spun by moi.

Just to give an overview, these are two separate yarns.  One is two-ply and the other is navajo.  They go together, though, and they compliment each other.  Smiley

WOW, jazzturtle!  I never comment on Fiber Fridays, but your stuff is realllllly beautiful!  My absolute favorite is the first, but the others are gorgeous, too - especially the silk and the chaos ones!  Beautiful!

And feralfeline, the fishpond's colors are amazing!

Great work, everyone!

straw into gold is awesome!

I carded 3 batts which go together but each is different. here are the first two spun up. the one on the right has more yellow in it and the other has more pink and purple.
the third batt has more teal and turquoise.
