*blush*

I have to say, it takes a lot of orneriness to do one of these! I decided I HAD to conquer it or it would conquer me (and I'd be a little puddle of jelly on the floor, mumbling weird things @ everyone).

And I become intimate friends with my *$#% seam ripper!

Wow that's amazing! I would hope one of my quilts would look even 1/100th that good...

Your color combinations are fantastic. I love red, white and blue. Pat yourself on the back, this is beautiful.

Buy a big machine on a frame  Roll Eyes Seriously, that is how I now do it. Before I got the Voyager, I sent out my big quilts.

Most people who quilt big quilts on their regular sewing machines say that you need to support the quilt at the level of the machine bed (use things like your ironing board covered in a garbage bag for slickness), puddle the quilt rather than rolling it (smoosh it in, smooth an area...), and quilt a bit, re-adjust and keep going. Make sure you breathe, move your shoulders down from around your ears (they keep sneaking up there!), listen to some good music, have plenty of chocolate...and some advocate an adult beverage of you choice (enough booze and you'll not care about your free motion quilting stitches  Grin ).

I decided on a color scheme at Christmastime and started buying FQs (and worked from my stash), but only spent 6 weeks total on it - working feverishly for a while, setting it aside, working feverishly...etc

I'm still obsessing about this quilt...
I'm going to try to make something similar. I love stars. It will probably take me more like 6 years than 6 weeks! It may be more a wall hanging that a bed quilt...
