I was thinking this would be a great mother's day gift but I'm not great with the 'from scratch' construction.  Has anyone seen a tut for something like this?

I haven't, but I did see a reading pillow where they just added three pieces of ribbon into it.  two diagonal to the lower corners from the center to hold the book open and one in the center to mark the page...

It looks really simple to make... sew a pyramid but leave a lot of overhang to the bottom, and create the "ravioli effect" from that

hope this explains what i'm thinking
