Here are some pics of Ellie all packed and ready to go (looking very happy until i stuffed her in a small bubble mailer).

And showing her passport, and luggage.  I didn't want her to get bored on the trip so she was sent with snacks, her favourite books, a little friend, and a picture of her puppy...

Can't wait for gina to get here for some exploring...

May 15
So I'm a deadbeat and have not posted photos of gina yet...
gina and I have been quite busy exploring Ottawa and getting ready for our trip to Disney World ( Roll Eyes) next week that all the photos are still trapped on the cameras... I will say that photos will be posted soon, but that may be an empty threat Wink

May 20
Still a deadbeat with no photos posted... we leave for Florida at 6am tomorrow morning and I just finished my dress for the wedding an hour ago (and I don't think it turned out that well... gina's is lovely though)
We'll be gone until Sunday so it will be sometime next week before I get caught up with everything and get pictures posted.

June 26
gina is getting a little homesick (although she is excited about spending Canada Day here (she heard rumors of beavertails, jazz music and fireworks)), so she wanted to make catpants a card.

We will post some pictures once it is decided which ones are going in the album (so there aren't too many repeats).

Ellie came home late last week, and I am finally done enough writing (silly school work), that I am ready to post pictures.  I'll apologize right off the bat for the pic overload but catpants was such an awesome host, that I just couldn't narrow it down any farther.

First of all everything all together: Catpants sent a reusable pad (I'm very excited, my husband wasn't so sure about it as he pulled it out of the package, with a "This is for you!"), Some Chai to try (I haven't had it yet, but it looks good), a pin, a little sketch book, a new necklace for Ellie, a candy (very tasty), and a charm from one of their adventures.

Ellie's new necklace (so funny story, my husband was sitting in the living room reading on Friday and I went to go talk to him, and there he was sitting with Ellie, and Sprocket (our stuffed puppy) and sprocket was wearing a blue plastic beaded necklace I have, and my husband said that Sprocket saw it and wanted to be pretty just like Ellie...)

Ellie's new sketch book from her trip.

The neat little charm from catpants and Ellie's trip to The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother.

Now on to the awesome scrap book.

The label from inside the album.

And some of my favourite pages.

Ellie Learned how to ride a bike while she was gone (thanks for teaching her catpants).

At the Craft Magazine launch Party (how cool is that).

With some very cool trees.

Braving traffic to see the Joan of Arc Statue (one of Ellie's visiting request).  Thank you so much for taking her there catpants, she is really excited about having made it there (and about everything else too).

At Stumptown Coffee.

I would happily post all the pages (cause catpants did an awesome job), but I'm sure that would get way too long.

Thank you so much for everything catpants.  Ellie had a greattime, and we were so excited to travel to Portland vicariously through her (someday I want to see everything for myself, but for now I will just enjoy the pictures and study the transit schedules and maps).

Miss Beatrix arrived yesterday, but they made me sign for the package so I couldn't get her until today!  But I'm sure she wasn't lonely waiting for me because she brought home a friend, and so much more!  Loops this is an AMAZING package.  I now feel my package was crap.  And might be sending something a little supplementary as a feeble attempt to reach your level of greatness!

Here come pics!!!

The total lot (please note Miss B in the back in her awesome new sleeping bag and hat):

A beautiful scarf from the Cotswolds:

Lots of yummy looking foodies (I already ate the marshmallow bit!):

Brochures, a neat calendar, and an ADORABLE coffee wristlet/clutch:

Puzzles, postcards, keychains, cookbook:

Lovely keychain and coin purse from the Tailor of Gloucester museum:

And of course, the amazing scrapbook!! Loops I CANNOT believe this was your first scrapbook!:

Thanks for an AMAZING swap Ms. Loops.  You and MR took great care of Miss B, and she will treasure her memories for a lifetime.  Best of all, she is now "Miss Beatrix, World Traveler" rather than "Miss Beatrix, gift from former best friend!"  A much happier history!  THANK YOU!!

~May 25th~

Last night my Mom and I had tickets to see American Ballet Theater perform the ballet "Le Corsaire" at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. So we smuggled Super Monkey into the theater in my purse, and he had a blast!

Here's Super Monkey inside the Met, sitting on the balcony right in front of our seats:

Reading the Playbill to figure out the (as a general rule) convoluted ballet plot:

Some of the cool lights at the Met:

More pics, as always, on the blog!

~May 11th~

Super Monkey and I had an exciting weekend, to make up for the crappy last week.  Last night I took him to a party, and here are a few of the highlights (as always, more on the blog).

Picking out what to drink:

Getting some lovin from my friend Danielle:

Riding my friend Mike trying not to get an FWI (flying while intoxicated!!)

Then today we went on a hike and picnic with my family to celebrate Mother's Day.

Hanging out in a tree:

On the picnic blanket pigging out:

The trail we hiked:

~May 7th~

I have been feeling sick for the past few days, so Super Monkey and I haven't been doing much.  Here we are having some noodle soup - the ultimate comfort food!

~APRIL 29th~

Today was a busy day for Super Monkey!!  His bio told me (as did SM himself) one of his favorite activities is kickboxing. Lucky for him I just so happen to take a kickboxing class every Tuesday at 6am! Here we are arriving at the gym, still a littly sleepy, since we had to get up at 5am to get there on time.

My instructor was so excited to have a new student!

She even gave him some personal instruction (that's him in the back!)

Later at work, he hung out in my cubicle:

And held a meeting in the boardroom:

The day ended with dinner at a Mexican restaurant with my friend Anne:

Many more pictures of today's adventures at work on the blog:   SM Blog

~APRIL 26th~

Today was an average day for me, not too exciting for Super Monkey.  In the morning I set about making a fruit smoothie for me and SM for breakfast.  He got impatient while I was chopping the fruit, and stole my strawberries (see that guilty look in his eyes?)

But then when I explained he would get some of the smoothie when it was finished he gave them back, but told me to hurry it up he was hungry!  When I finally gave him the smoothie he enjoyed it very much, and the cool sake glass I served it to him in...

After that we took a ride to one of my favorite local parks, so that I could get some exercise!  Here we are driving there (SM claimed this as his spot while driving so that he can keep his eye on the road AND me!):

SuperMonkey doesn't care for walking, he'd rather fly around, so while I walked he flew for awhile and then was intrigued by the dog park at my park, and silently observed from the car:

More pics on the blog, including pics of the beautiful park I took him to: SM Blog

~APRIL 25th~

When he arrived, Super Monkey immediately flew up to my chandelier and wouldn't come back down (he thought I had stolen the box in transit and tried to kidnap him!)

It wasn't until I showed him this postcard of his home addressed to me that he finally realized I was his hostess!

Partly to break up the embarrassing moment now passed, and partly because he'd been crammed in a box all week, SM decided to take a quick flight around the world (one of his favorite activities).  He likes to be like Superman and get exercise at the same time!

When he got back he was hungry so we had a snack, some of the lovely candy he brought at a hostess gift.  It was delicious, and unlike anything I'd had before!

On my way home from work last night I stopped at Bed, Bath, and Beyond to buy something I had long desired - a recipe stand!  Tired of getting food on my cookbooks, and having to wash my hands every time I wanted to open to the page, you know?  So Super Monkey offered to use his super fast skills and put it together for me.  Here's an action shot of the putting together (I'm surprised it's not blurry he was so fast!) and a shot of him modeling the finished product:

So then I immediately set about making dinner.  SM hung around while I cooked.  Quite literally.

When I finally tucked him in for the night he made me promise to post this pic and tell Mr and Ms Loops that he said "Goodnight!"

Here is baby smiley at the post office, he was excited to go as he almost jumped in the envelope by himself:

***GUS IN AZ!***
Sorry my life is so boring, but it's just work, work, work right now.  It'll get a bit more interesting these they weeks.  I promise!

May 12th

Gus helping me cook my dinner tonight.  It's a form of meatloaf that didn't turn out too solid like meatloaf, but it'll be good with rice.

Here's Gus waiting with me in rush hour traffic.  This is what I get to go through every single day.

May 10th

Here's Gus checking out the other LVs galleries.

May 3rd & 4th

So my mom came to visit me this past weekend and we did some interesting stuff, compared to the usual work day.  We did a lot of shopping, ranging from swap meets to Joann.

At Joann's flower department

At makeup booth in the swap meet

After my mom left, we decided to stop at Sonic and enjoy a nice strawberry slush during their happy hour.

Then we felt very bad for how much food and junk we had all weekend, we decided to go work out.

Lastly, building some muscles!

May 1st

Not too much exciting is going on.  Just mostly work, work, and work.  Just one picture for short update.  I've been away from my cube these past few days to work in the lab.  I got back today to find this:

Gus was pretty busy while I was gone.  Cheesy

It's been a while, but here's a small update of the past days.
Gus watching America's Next Top Model.  He didn't like it.  He said it was too girly.

We also watched Big Brother.  This made Gus a bit happier cuz there was a guy, James, who had a pink mohawk.  He felt there was some kind of similarity between them both.  Smiley

Sorry if Gus was too close to the TV.  He wanted the best seat in the house.

Random of picture with Boba, who wasn't too happy:

So, we had a pretty good weekend.  My fiance came to town and we visited a lot of places.  We did get yelled at for taking random pictures though. :/  It was fun anyways.  Sorry for the picture overload.

We first went to Rocco's, a local pizza eatery:

(picture later, phone is acting up)

Then we had a ton of Eegee's, a local sandwich and slushy place.  Here's Gus' favorite new food, Pizza Fries!!!

We went to the casino.  I think it would have been fun if we won some money, but we only lost Sad

Lastly, here's a picture of Gus at the airport, when we took my fiance there.  It was sad for me, but Gus helped.  Here he is in front of the colorful cactis.

April 22nd

Gus' first car ride.  I kind of had to get him out of bed really early for work.  I buckled him to make sure he was safe.

Gus is examining my work phone.  He was confused with the buttons and also just waiting to see what it sounded like

Gus passed out after lunch.  He was pretty bored.

Tonight we're going to watch some of my favorite shows! Smiley

Gus enjoying the Arizona weather and view from my balcony

Mac & Cheese!!  Yum!

Mac & Cheese with broccoli?  Still Yum!!  (According to Gus, not just my opinion)

Boba meets Gus

Here's Gus' first night.  He will get a much better bed once I make it.  He's sleeping on a rolled up bed sheet.  I promise that he will get a better bed.

Here's Gus getting ready to leave for Arizona.

BABY SMILEY'S BLOG: babysmileyinct.blogspot.com
Blog update: 26/05/2008

APRIL 21st
Baby Smiley arrived this afternoon. Everyone was very excited to meet him (although the kids I look after had been expecting an actual baby...oops)

Here he is breathing in some fresh Connecticut air (totally counts even if he's indoors). He hadn't eaten all his snacks from the trip so shared them with me.

I especially love that his smile didn't even faulter when he saw what a mess my bedroom was. Ckchan I PROMISE to get it cleaned up. I would never let him live in such a mess.

And now he's watching 'The Office' while I clean up.

APRIL 22nd
Baby Smiley went on a car ride today to the Beardsley Zoo.

APRIL 23rd
I don't mean to keep posting every day but this story needed to be shared.

I work with a 5 year old autistic boy who hasn't taken much notice of Baby Smiley up until now. Today though he brought Baby Smiley over to our large umbrella, placed him underneath and then put it up so that our LV wouldn't get sunburnt. My heart melted.
THANKS Baby Smiley for making my day!!

APRIL 28th
Baby Smiley has decided that being a nanny isn't too bad. Especially when you get to play with playdough!! But I think he might be feeling a little lonely, he made himself a little friend...

MAY 3rd
Baby Smiley in Times Square

MAY 11th
We didn't do a whole lot this week. Baby Smiley was helping me book my holiday to Canada - it made him a little sad since he wouldn't be joining me because he'll be back in Arizona.

But.... today he got to watch me go SKY-DIVING!! We both had a fantastic day. He really wanted to do it too, but unfortunately they wouldn't let him because he wasn't 18 years old. He was great though, taking photos and cheering me on Smiley

MAY 26th
This weekend we went on a celebrity stalking roadtrip with my friend. The goal of our trip was to meet Bam Margera from Viva La Bam. http://www.lovefilm.com/lovefilm/images/products/7/33767-large.jpg
We travelled to 6 states (CT, NY, NJ, DE, MD, PA) and had a lot of fun. Sadly, we never did meet Bam.

Here Baby Smiley is on the sky ride at Seaside Heights in New Jersey.

It's been AGES since I updated! Almost a month! We've had a busy few weeks - no more exciting trips, but we went to our local carnival and have cleaned my bedroom 3 times in preperation for my sisters arrival.

We are going to JFK today to pick her up. Smiley and I made her a poster. She is a huge Buffy fan and once mentioned that she wanted someone to be at the airport wating for her with this exact poster - sure it says "Farewell Giles" - and even though she's arriving not leaving, and her name is not Giles I figured that she'd like it anyway.

Baby Smiley is headed home. We'll all miss him!!

He brought back so many lovely things with him!

A suitcase (with a new crocheted blanket and pillow inside), a colouring book for the kids I look after, a miniature greenhouse, postcards (Texas, Dallas and Arizona), an awesome scrapbook, a photo cd, an cute Arizona magnet, chopsticks - he learnt to use them, amusing souvenirs from a bar and grill, USA lanyard, a tucson photo book - GORGEOUS!! and best of all an ADORABLE crochet cactus plant!!

Here are some of my fav scrapbook pages (please excuse my bad photography):

So cute!

He has done more exercise (and seen more movies) than I have all year.

A dog named Chandler! I love it!!

London Bridge in Arizona!! Who knew??

A giant safety pin!!

Thanks for such a fun swap Carmen. I'm so jealous that Gus has visited all these places that I desperately want to see. He had a great time.

Antoinette was waiting for me in a big yellow box when I got home from work today!

Opening the box (with the classic high altitude super puffed packing bubbles

Here is Antoinette with all the goodies she brought back from Germany!

There is a tote bag from Frankfurt, some special wool from a German sheep breed, a cd full of pictures and a digital photo album, a paper album, some postcards, and a super fantastic book of German baking recipes! Wow!

The cookbook is marked with LizzieMcGuires favorite recipes with special instructions - Antoinette is pointing out a recipe that she learned how to cook Smiley

Here is a sample page from the paper album, showing Antoinette visiting a headbanger concert!

Here are links to some pages from the digital photo album:

Johann arrived today after a long trip! He immediately went outside to see the flowers:

Then he was tired, so I gave him some ice cream and sent him to take a nap. Later on he is going to help me make dal patties for dinner. He brought me some treats of german candies and little pendants! He is also well prepared for his trip with a rucksack full of guidebooks, knitting needles, and his passport.

Last weekend, Johann helped dye some wool!

Today he came with me to work. We went into the roof observatory to get a good view

but he thought the most exciting thing was this big ball of string

I snuck Johann into my dim sum class on Tuesday. Here he is helping to make potstickers:

Today we walked home from work and saw Bear Creek, but Johann was the only bear there.

I think I have figured out how to make a map of Johann's travels. Hopefully I can just update the map and the embedded map will update too. Ah, I see that the format does not work on this forum, but it does work in Johann's blog...here is a link anyway.

On Saturday Johann helped pick rhubarb in the garden

then he made a rhubarb crisp

Today he went to Denver

and had a lot of dim sum

then he went back to Boulder

and had tea at the tea house

Visiting backstage on opening night last week!

This week we are in Miami

Lots of palm (and palmetto) trees

Jumping on the hotel bed

Johann went to the Boulder Creek Festival today! It was cold and raining but he stuck it out to the duck race.

Watching a mexican dance group

At the rubber duck race on the creek!

Afterwards he had some hot tea:

I got Kiki today.  She was very excited to get out of her envelope.  After she got out she wanted to zoom around.  She wanted to zoom around in style but all I had at the moment was one of My fiance's little monster trucks.

After zooming around for a while she got hungry.

"Hey Kiki you can't eat that, that's pure sugar."

"There, that's much better.  MMMMM  Pizza."

Here she is Meeting Toby.  They are already best buds.

I've just been informed that Kiki was standing on her head all day. Ooops!

On Saturday me and my fiance took Kiki to a Casting Crowns concert.  We had lots of fun.

This is my fiance and Kiki during intermission

Kiki insisted on going to work with me last night.  I told her that she could come along but only if she took a nap.  She agreed.

I told her to stay on her side of the bed, but I guess she wasn't listening, because as soon as I fell asleep she snuggled up right under my chin.

Then it was time to go to work.  She wanted Monsieur Squidy to come with so she wouldn't be lonely.  They decided to stay in my locker so that they could play games.  I thought that that was fine because I figured that they're two responsible stuffies and nothing would happen.

I was wrong.

Kiki is giving Squidy a peck on the cheek.  I wonder what they were really doing in my locker all night.

When Kiki noticed that I saw the two of them "embracing" she jumped up on the dashboard and pretended nothing happened.  I'm gonna have to keep my eye on those two. Cheesy

Martin "Fretty Fingers" Everybody!!

Since I was sending him out from work, he played the "hold music" while I got his envelope ready.

Fretty is home!  Look at all his goodies!

These are a couple of my favorite pages from his scrapbook...

Thank you Gwenyvar!  You put together an awesome package and scrapbook.

Maddie came home! She brought so many souvenirs with her that they took up a large part of my living room floor.
She brought home: scrapbook, bed, blanket, pink bling color, Coke cup, multi-green collar, Dukesfest newspaper insert, Newsletter, CD of photos, Dukesfest flyer, Chinese restaurant placemat, a "Learn to Crochet" notebook with instructions on all the basic stitches, Braves crochet roll and stitch markers that either have beautiful white-on-clear beads or spell out my name, Circus tickets, light up bracelet, kids menu and crayons, scout-made water bottle holder, a lucky pig, Bulldogs shot glass, scout day camp hat, ceramic schoolhouse with Braves earrings inside, multiple baseball programs, handouts, scrapbooking scissors, GA and AL pins, Atlanta, name and Dukes of Hazzard keychains, and more!
Here are the photos!
All of the swag Maddie brought home. Next she is going to be demanding her own room to keep it all in!

Scrapbook (beautiful!)

Shotglass and earrings

Opposite side of crochet roll

Today was like Christmas!

Mel and I have been pretty busy.
Last Saturday (4/26) I graduated from the uni. Mel drove us to the ceremony, took the obligatory family photos but decided that he would rather take a nap in the warm car than sit through the ceremony. He made a wise decision!

I've been working all week which hasn't been the most exciting thing ever either. We've been sending out a lot of letters to our pledgers (I work at the local PBS station) and Mel has been giving a paw here and there.

Mel Arrived Yesterday (4/25)
I was so excited to get home from work because I knew that he had to be waiting for me. There he was! I had to carefully cut the tape on the box because I knew it's important contents.
Here is Mel!

He came wearing a jersey/vest/shirt declaring where he's from (GA) and with an armband with his name, just in case we party too hard and forget  Tongue

He also came with Tom, his bear and mini-me, complete with name arm band/bracelet. We're going to have so much fun!

We had to rush off right away to go sign the contract on our new apartment and Mel wanted to help drive. He did well, no crashing or anything.

After hours and hours of cleaning the apartment and setting the kitchen in order, we went to my favorite grocery store (Meijer!) and bought supplies to feed our moving crew on Sunday (parents, little brother and friend)

Today is Graduation day from the uni so we're off to celebrate (and pack up my belongings)
I need to post one last photo of Maddy before she climbed into her envelope. Thanks to help from the future Mr Sunnydays, the passport and contract turned out lovely.

Here is Rainy just before she was stuffed into a bubble envelope.

I went downstairs to ask the office if they had a package they forgot to tell me about and sure enough, there was Major Grizzly!

After presenting me with wonderful smelling rose scented hostess gifts, he relaxed in the sun

Spoiler was curious about the new guy

Lizard just wanted to know if he was edible (after finding out he wasn't and that he wouldn't be stealing her food either, she lost interest)

Major overseeing an armwrestling match at a local mall

Major Grizzly and Red WIngs Bear before coming to work with me

What is the first thing you have to do when entering Magic Kingdom?  Get your pic taken in front of Cinderella's castle, of course!

Flirting with Minnie (later on he was firting with one a my friends, too)

I'm leaving this one a little bigger because of the story behind it.  I was waiting for Adventureland to openwhen I noticed a couple taking a couple bears out of their pockets and taking pics.  I laughed and told them that I was glad I wasn't the only one doing the same thing today.  They're from England and his mother isn't well enough to travel, so they take pics of the bears.  His sister makes a scrapbook their mother.  We decided that they needed a pic together.

New pics finally!

I have to confess that the Pluto pic is my fav so far.

Major Grizzley met Stroller Pal Mickey (who has a pal mickey who has a pal mickey lol)

We went to the flower and garden show @ Epcot and ate in Germany (this pic is larger for the obvious "more cowbell" jokes Cheesy)

After enjoying the beer in Germany, he got a little silly and hid in some flowers outside Italy.

We had some watermelon soda from China

This is from a couple weeks ago.  I'm useless when it comes to car stuff, so Major G tried to help change my blown out tire.  We ended up calling a towtruck, my spare was flat too! Roll Eyes

Rainy arrived safely last week, but I didn't get the chance to take pics til this morning.

All of her mementos and loot together-  She enjoyed visiting lots of museums and art shows!  Some pop rocks from a candy store that sells candy for a nickel and a little bunny friend.  She also saw Kung-Fu Panda (which I haven't seen, but Rainy tells me it was great)

South Carolina mints, keychain (with sand inside, so neat!) and a shot glass (or as we call it @ WDW it's a 'toothpick holder' lol)

bigfatroses taught Rainy how to crochet! (sorry about the terrible pic)

She also made Rainy a patriotic dress for 4th of July

A really cute scrapbook of Rainy's adventures (my fav pic is the one with bigfatroses' adorable daughter, but I didn't want to post it, these are my other favs)

Thank you bigfatroses for showing Rainy around SC!  Thank you kishcrafts and flowerwitch1 for organizing this great swap!
