Trevor's home!

and he's brought a friend!!  Well, I say friend, I think it might either be a girlfriend, or a fan...

and the friend has long legs or arms, depending on which way you pull them!

he also came with some yummy new yarn!

and a cute new bag for me  Grin

lots of goodies together with the scrapbook (which i need to take some better 'favourite pages' pics of; and the origami paper that my SO has claimed (and won't stop going on about!!) and sweeties, yay!

Our trip to Wales

chatting with the driver (the SO's sister)

Posing by the beach

being amused by Welsh spellings!

Amigito's here Smiley
First he found my new yummy yarn...
and then he found the sweetie stash! No! Breakfast first!
but you don't have any bananas!
so, we went to the kitchen and started breakfast, when he saw the pile of washing up...
he tried to help carrying things through...
i think the excitement wore him out, so put him down for a nap! (and I get to keep the bag! woohoo!!!)

Chappy left to return home to Australia on 7/7/08.  It's a long ride and I don't expect him to arrive home for probably anouther 4 or 5 days but wanted to let everyone know that we had a fabulous time while he was here and he will be missed.  Grin

Dear Hammy and I will be enjoying this one, thank you!

I sent out my Galvin two days ago:

Galvin and his suitcase and also getting in his baggy!

...and today I got HAMMY!
This was his box:

all the goodies hammy brought with him!

after such a long trip, all he really wanted was a nap... Tongue

Hammy getting to know the friends I keep in the house (a little mixer)

Friday April 25th!

I took Hammy to the beach, it was fun but windy... I think Hammy still had a good time!

The beach was on the Navy base so I took some... not so legal.... pictures with Hammy ad the big boats!

Pictures I didn't post to help with the aw-factor!

We got to go to Disneyland?

See, we're REALLY in California!... palm trees!

Awesome cactus tree at Balboa Park

Crazy SCA war action (If I can figure it out, I'll post the video of them fighting- it's CRAZY!!!)

Winchester Mystery House, San Jose, CA!

Mountain View, CA... the hometown of Google, and drinkdrankdrunk!

Ok! So... here's the lovely package from Marylini!

*t-shirt, stickers, handmade scrapbook, lil' bear, key chain, fun "make your own piggy" kit, Hello Kitty notebook (how'd she know?), magnet, and cute little mug*

Galvin got a little hard core in New York!

close up of the book

some pages from the book!

Thanks Marylini! It was a lot of fun!!! I love Hammy!!!

Here's Major Grizzly all set and ready to go!  As you can see, he has his "ruck sack" packed with a Good Conduct medal, snacks, and the Snow White pin-up poster!  LOL!  He's looking real sharp, and hopes to impress lots of ladies while in Florida!   Grin

Rainy arrived today!  She was so excited to be out of her envelope!

Here she is with the first thing she noticed- sunflower sprouts!

And she needed to freshen up, so I told her where her dressing screen was at, and managed to get a pic of her!

And then she saw some new people, and she decided it was a great time to make friends!

She then told me that she wanted me to see all the goodies she came with, so here they are!!

Lastly, she meandered about the house, and was quite confused about my husband's Warhammer 40K models...  He'll have to explain them to her when he gets home!

Tonight, she and I will go through all my fabrics and notions and hopefully will be able to find the perfect materials for a new outfit to wear at the Celtic Festival this weekend!!!

April 23, 2008

Rainy went to Rite Aid with me earlier for some Red Bulls and she wouldn't let me start the car without choosing some good "cruising" music- I think she likes Jack Johnson!

She also helped me get into the attic to find my most favorite door sign!  Here she is happy with it being up, although she said that her family wouldn't need an appointment!

Tomorrow, we are going to the Golden Corral for a Hail and Farewell ceremony for some guys in my DH's unit- Rainy feels a little apprehensive about the outing since she'll be meeting lots of new people all at once.  I think that she'll feel much better when I help her get a nice big plate of fresh veggies!!   Grin

April 26, 2008

Here's Rainy admiring a black Australian swan:

April 30, 2008

I caught Rainy at my DD's easel this morning.

This afternoon (in an attempt to get away from our very annoying mutt), DD and I took Rainy to see old town from the top of the parking structure at the hospital.  She was quite impressed with our opera house!  We'll have to take her to see it up close this weekend!

July 14, 2008

(I'll post a few pics here today, and then thumbnail the rest tomorrow!)

My daughter was excited to see him again!

The Major looks like he's ready to settle down, as he brought Aurora home with him!!

Rainy's little sister came as well, which is fine with all of us!  She's been a little bit shy, but I think I'll take her around town tomorrow and show her some sights her big sister saw!

The front of the scrapbook

Some of the pictures!  Love the Army men!

He's out of uniform, but that's ok!  He looks so handsome in those hats!  Smiley

We also got an autograph book!!

My favorite page

HEHE!  The Major is something else!

I guess Donald doesn't care!  LOL!

I'll post more pics tomorrow!  This was all very exciting, and the Major can't keep his hands off of Aurora, so I think I'll leave him and her alone for the evening!   Cheesy

Thank you, FicklePegasus, so showing my handsome bear a great time!

Guster is home!  Here he is in his new Margarita cup bed.

All the places Guster went.

Now the scrapbook!

Miri and I were "gardening" today.  I have one pot and we put random seeds in there.  But wait, who is that lurking??!!

Miri redecorated the guest room.  Yes, I believe leopard print should qualify as a color.

Miri arrived safe and sound!

In the guest room:

It's a little sparse right now but Miri seems like the crafty type - I'm sure she'll have it decorated in no time.

At the Mexican restaruant:

It WAS a quesadilla!  Fattening.

Galvin arrived yesterday and jumped out of his box with a cute suitcase (inside was a scarf, some summer reading, a blanket and some...protection!). He also arrived with candy which is not pictures because my husband horded it!

He then proceeded to try to get my husband to text his mom, drinkdrankdrunk, but he forgot the number!

he was so annoyed that he bit me on the nose!

but then it just turned out to be a love bite, so i forgave him. i decided at that point that it was time to put him to bed for the night!

Rincewind is home!  In fact, he got home some time ago, but it was right after I went on vacation, so now I am home as well, and got to let him out of the box.  He was very grateful to be let out, as he had been sharing that box with a tiger for three weeks, and even a grateful and well disposed tiger makes him nervous.

His luggage caught up with him while he was away, so he had somewhere to put his souveniers:

Roanefaery tells me that Rincewind helped to rescue the tiger from dire bondage, and therefore it has vowed to follow him until it has done him an equally good service.

The luggage spit out this lovely collection when Rincewind insisted he had to share it...

Roller derby stickers, temporary tattoo, and shot glass, two dinosaurs and a set of stickers, a parachuting monkey (that's the blue thing), a post card, snacks in case the tiger got hungry, travel toothpaste, and (which I personally think is fantastic) a little book made of elephant poop paper.

A better picture of the elephant poop book (I'm fascinated by this, but haven't quite worked up the courage to open the plastic yet...) and the Avenue Q pin I found lurking at the bottom of the box when I went to put it in the attic.

And of course, pictures of the absolutely fabulous scrapbook that RoaneFaery helped him put together:

Wedding photos!  Yay!   Grin

Psychokiller Barbie is terribly jealous that Rincewind got to go to a roller derby event.  And to see Avenue Q (which we missed when it was in DC.)

Visit to the zoo, with amazing foam animal stickers, and co-ordinated backgrounds and everything:

I'm not sure if Rincewind is a little sorry to be home again, or just being his usual gloomy self:

Thanks RoaneFaery!  Even if Rincewind didn't really enjoy himself, I had a great time with this swap.  Smiley

Rincewind staring gloomily into the box before mailing, with Eyore who came to see him off.  At least he remembered to take the wedding present...

And here is the newly arrived Alistar, who has already made friends with Astrid the Giant Poppetess:

Alistar went out to explore the Northern Virginia flora yesterday, even though it was still a bit damp.  He missed the daffodils, but the wood hyacinths and the azalea bushes were still in bloom.  The Glass Cat (always looking for trouble) tagged along, and explained to him about lounging in the moss and violets.

and much fun was had by all at:
5/1: Eddie Izzard (DAR Constitution hall, DC)
5/2: dinner at a local restaurant in Columbia, MD
5/3: Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, trip to the park
5/7: Apocalyptica concert (9:30 club, DC)
5/10: Smithsonian museums and the National Mall, DC!

5/17: VA Ren Faire
5/20: School for Scandal performance at the Folger Shakespeare Theater
5/31: Washington Folk Festival (Glen Echo park, and thunderstorms...)

...and while Alistar doesn't have his own blog, he borrowed a little internet crashspace from Psychokiller Barbie on livejournal.
