I made this hoodie a few years ago actually, but I totally forgot I had it and I just had to post it because I love it Grin click on the links to see pics bigger. and sorry that they're so bad quality, my cam can't focus correctly in self-timer mode Sad

I traced another sweater I had to make the pattern, then changed it a bit since the original didn't have a hood. I wanted the hood to have like a collar in it too so in cold days I could pull the zipper all the way up and protect my face Smiley like so:

Complete with super long sleeves and all!
Zipper not all the way up

It's completely made of polar fleece, the "spikes" are just two pieces sewn together and turned inside out, no interfacing or anything which I probably should have used... It's got bias tape around the edges, a zipper and two pockets!

close up of limegreen fabric and bias tape. sorry about the cat hair... unfortunately the color is totally off, it's more like the first pic but a little darker and not quite so yellow.

Thanks for looking! What do you think? Cheesy

EDIT:: A small tut on the hoodcollarthing for those who wants to know
Here is what my pattern looks like for this thing. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I pretty much just guessed the shape and measurements from what I can remember. Just make sure you hole is big enough and try to measure from the  bottom of your throat and up to where you want the "collar" to end. Make a regular hood shape and then modify it to look something like this...

click link to see it bigger.

Hope that helped! Tongue

That's a genius hoodie! I really like how it cups the face when zipped all the way up. Kudos!

Very cool.  Any chance of having the tutorital lying around?

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

It IS extremely comfy. and really hot... nothing for a warm summer's day Wink

morning_town: nope, Directions, and I usually mix a couple different shades. Pillarbox red and Poppy red are my favs though Smiley hot pink is the best!

No... sorry! But if there's anything specific you want to know, do ask Smiley It's pretty much just a basic sweater pattern, I cut it up the back and put spikes in. Made the sleeves a bit longer, and added a pointed hood. I can draw the shape of the hood if you want? So you can see how I made the collar.

Cute! With the zipper all the way up, you look like a dinosaur scuba diver.
