I totally cheated- but LOVE the effect- it only took about 30 minutes, too. It's on the end of a loong skinny scarf and attracts lots of comments.

What do you mean, cheated?  You know in Craftster you must share!  I don't know how to knit intarsia, so I would 'embroider' on what I want -- is that what you mean? You did a great job though; love the cursive L.

I did it just like regular embroidery, but I don't know how to embroider, so I just faked it. Smiley I picked a font on my computer, made my initial big, printed it, cut it completely out so the stokes were only about 1/4" wide, and then laid it on my scarf and stitched over it completely. I tore it out with tweezers when I was done- but that part was annoying and you could probably just leave it in if it was compeltely covered.

The yarns are just cheapo walmart yarn. (yay for cheap yarn!)

That's awesome! I always screw up when I try to do embroidery. Maybe with your technique I can get it to look nice. <3
