i was inspired by a painting of a gold or yellow-orange something fish with this gorgeous aqua background that i would swear was posted in the more art, less craft area, but when i went back to find it, no such masterpiece seemed to exist. but here's the necklace it inspired...

modeled by my bedroom wall

close up of little fishy

i lucked out when i went with my mother to a bead show at the cobb galleria in atlanta and managed to find that little fish from a place called Elephant eye beads. i think he's the cutest, and i feel inclined to name him...

what do you think?

This is beautiful! I love the colors...
Do either one of these happen to be the fishy painting you mentioned? I remembered seeing them a little bit back.

That is lovely!  The colors are perfect together.

I like to work with seed beads, and have tons, but have a hard time making them look nice, not so plain.  You did an excellent job at accomplishing this.  Great work!

thanks everybody!

craig... hmm... i like. the rubber lures seem kind of icky... like to have them there by your neck... all wiggly... and squirmy...

and the painting... was maybe a koi, toward the right side, swimming to the top of the canvas, and lots of water kind of swirled around it, but the canvas wasn't completely painted... and it was looking down on the little fish...  Undecided

Hmm... I don't think I've seen it, but I would love to.

I was nervous when I read "blue and orange" together because I usually cringe when I see those colors together, but this necklace is so nice!  I really dig the asymmetry.
